Broadcast Technician – Cleveland Studio
Mills James, a leading creative media production company, is seeking a part‑time Broadcast Technician to join our Cleveland studio team. This role supports live and studio productions by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting broadcast equipment in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Bring
A bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, communications, or a related field or three or more years of professional broadcast experience, especially in live production and studio operations.
Strong knowledge of broadcast production equipment and workflows, including video switching, camera operation, and audio mixing.
Hands‑on experience directing, technical directing, operating cameras, and floor directing in both control room and live studio settings.
Ability to mix audio using digital audio consoles and diagnose common sound issues.
Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and focused during live productions.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for studio and off‑site production needs.
Flexibility to work variable hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to a professional, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with broadcast automation systems and video routing/signal flow.
Familiarity with nonlinear editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere) or broadcast graphics systems.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and accessibility.
Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Stand or sit for extended periods during live productions.
Navigate tight spaces and climb ladders or platforms to set up or maintain equipment.
Work around studio lighting, audiovisual equipment, and other production‑related environmental conditions.
