Job Title
Freelance Structural Engineer
Location Stuttgart (Remote/Hybrid)
About the Company Our client is a mid-sized civil/structures consultancy delivering building and infrastructure projects across Germany. They operate a BIM-first workflow and partner closely with architects, developers, and contractors to deliver efficient, code-compliant designs. You’ll join as an independent contractor to support peak workload on reinforced concrete, steel, and timber schemes from concept through to approval and execution.
Required Skills
5+ years’ experience in structural analysis and design for buildings/infrastructure.
Proficiency in at least two of: Dlubal RFEM/RSTAB, SOFiSTiK, ETABS/SAP2000, AND Tekla, Revit.
Experience within Steel and Reinforced Concrete
Excellent coordination skills with architects, MEP, and site teams; confident in technical communication.
Desired Skills
Timber design, façade structures, and stability of complex geometries.
Job Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design for RC/steel/timber elements from concept to detailed design.
Develop and review connection details, reinforcement strategies, and buildability checks.
Coordinate with architects/MEP/contractors; respond to RFIs and design changes swiftly.
Support BIM delivery: review models, ensure consistency between drawings, schedules, and calculations.
Attend occasional site visits across Germany (as needed) for inspections and technical clarifications.
Manage your workload, meet milestones, and maintain quality assurance documentation.
This is a freelance/contract position, and candidates will need to be registered to freelance in Germany/EU (Freiberufler/Gewerbe).
