Job Summary The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for managing key HR functions at a plant level, including employee relations, talent acquisition, and performance management, and ensuring Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) compliance, where applicable. This role acts as an extension of the HR Manager, ensuring alignment and execution of priorities, handling complex employee relations issues, training programs, and workforce planning initiatives and serves as a trusted HR partner to employees, supervisors and managers.
What you will be doing
Lead employee relations efforts, including investigations, conflict resolution, grievance support, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, OSHA, EPA requirements, CBAs (where applicable), and internal HR policies and processes.
Oversee workforce planning, partnering with recruiting and leadership to meet staffing needs and support onboarding.
Drive training and development initiatives, including leadership development, compliance training, job qualification programs, and coaching for supervisors.
Manage performance management cycles for hourly and salaried employees, including data analysis, reporting, calibration support, and mentoring junior HR staff.
Serve as an escalation point for payroll, compensation, benefits, and leave administration to ensure accuracy and legal compliance.
Lead HR operations, including HRIS and record management, KPI reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.
What will make you successful? Required Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years HR experience, preferably in unionized manufacturing environment, where applicable.
English required; additional language skills are a plus.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
SHRM-CP, or PHR, Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) or other union/labor relations certifications a plus.
Strong understanding of HR policies, labor laws (FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA, NLRA), and union contracts.
Experience with HRIS, payroll systems (e.g., SuccessFactors, UKG, Ulti-Pro), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to interpret CBAs and assist in labor relations efforts, where applicable.
