CAD Designer & Drafter – Power Systems Controls Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a CAD Designer & Drafter – Power Systems Controls in the following locations: Arden, NC; Littleton, CO; Moon Township, PA; Greenwood, SC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $68,000 – $99,000. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do

Create control system design drawing packages based on specifications provided by engineers.

Review and interpret rough sketches, markups, and technical specifications to understand design requirements.

Use CAD software to generate accurate and detailed drawings of control enclosures, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and related design details.

Incorporate design changes and revisions as directed by project stakeholders.

Ensure drawings comply with applicable industry standards, internal drafting practices, and customer requirements.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve design issues and optimize drawings for manufacturability and installation.

Maintain organized file management and documentation of drawings, revisions, and project records.

Qualifications

Associate degree or certificate in drafting/design, engineering technology, or a related field.

Three (3) years of experience in CAD design and drafting.

No relocation is being offered; candidates must reside in one of the specified locations (active‑duty military members are exempt).

Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of experience in CAD design and drafting.

Skills

Proficiency with 2D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and familiarity with basic 3D modeling tools.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality work.

Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple drawing packages and meet deadlines.

Experience creating drawings for control panels, switchgear assemblies, or other power‑system automation equipment.

Basic understanding of electrical components such as circuit breakers, control relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), transformers, and terminal blocks.

Knowledge of the following relevant industry standards: NFPA 70, UL 891, UL 1558, UL 508A. Experience coordinating with manufacturing, fabrication, or field service teams to resolve drawing‑related issues.
