Resource Planning Ensure an adequate and reliable power supply to meet the electric load requirements and clean energy obligations of Cowlitz PUD and the community. Business Efficiency Implement business systems to achieve efficient use of Cowlitz PUD’s resources. A Substation Wireman constructs, maintains, and monitors Cowlitz PUD substations and associated hardware. Other duties include but are not limited to shipping, receiving, and managing associated substation warehouse material including establishing warehouse limits and inventory. Will be required to drive and operate equipment and CDL classified vehicles as well as working in proximity of high voltage lines and bus work. Minimum Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must adhere to the District's residency requirements for response workers. Demonstrated experience operating a PC, laptop and tablet. Must be a qualified Journeyman Electrician having served a sanctioned IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship program or the equivalent in another comparable electrical craft. Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with no air brake restrictions. Must be up-to-date and have thorough knowledge with current construction standards, equipment, techniques and safety rules. Desired Qualifications

Prior Wireman, substation maintenance and construction experience. Work Environment

The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed mainly outside in all weather conditions with some in‑office work. Work is performed in the office or in the field Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Remote work is not available for this position. Performs work in compliance with the District Union Contract Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and WAC 45. Work will be performed in the field with need to wear proper personal protection equipment (PPE) and perform work adhering to all safety standards. Will have to physically negotiate all terrain in all weather conditions with tools, equipment and maintenance or construction supplies. May work evenings, weekends, and holidays and overtime for emergency outage situations. Application Process
