Awwwards
UI/UX Designer for Artist Portfolio Website Template
Awwwards, California, Missouri, United States, 65018
The Project
Based on market research, we’re building a website platform for visual artists - a single customizable template that artists can personalize at the background level (color, image or video), fonts, logo, and content.
Think Komi.io but vertical for artists. Our research shows that artists don’t necessarily like having all site info on a single scrolling page. Most artists use the same types of data for their sites and prefer a minimal style with interesting UI/UX that they can customize with their own artwork (similar to an art gallery aesthetic).
What We Need Interactive mockups ready for developer handoff. We’re looking for a freelance (or a company) specialist in UI/UX (animations, etc.) who can create production-ready designs.
Content & Features to Design Portfolio & Artworks
Dedicated sections for artwork display as similar to a gallery as possible (with minimal/innovative UI/UX, zoom, etc.)

Price display options: visible/hidden or on request for specific artworks (via email) based on artist preference
Artworks can be purchased directly from site or not
Option for multiple art collections (e.g., divided by year, technique, or name, or a single collection)

The design must look good even if an artist includes only some of this information.
Technical Requirements Must be mobile-first because most artists are discovered through Instagram, but also beautiful on desktop.
Important: We only need the frontend part - what collectors/buyers and galleries see when they land on the site. No mockups needed for what the artist sees when entering data, etc. For budget reasons and since this is an MVP, once our developer has created the backend with the mockups, we’ll enter the data for each site ourselves. If everything goes as planned, we’d be happy to develop the artist dashboard with you once we’ve tested sufficient demand for the MVP.
Final Objective When someone sees the site, they should think: "Ah, this artist made their site with Stoodio" because it’s recognizable, but it leaves space for the artist’s creativity.
