Counterintelligence (CI) Investigator – MANTECH

Location: Chantilly, VA

We are seeking a motivated, career‑ and customer‑oriented

CI Investigator

to join our team in

Chantilly, VA .

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive counterintelligence inquiries according to legal status, IC and DoD policies and procedures.

Identify, evaluate, perform, and report on threats to agency equities using extensive knowledge of agency, IC and DoD policies and directives.

Safeguard all case files and write detailed reports and referrals to appropriate government agencies.

Provide investigative support for espionage damage assessments.

Conduct CI assessments and referrals of personnel for IC indicators and CI incidents as appropriate, including FBI 811 referrals. These duties include a comprehensive review of personnel records to validate or invalidate assertions of CI indicators; assess and document CI vulnerabilities associated with agency personnel; identify CI concerns and possible mitigations within SEAD‑4 National Security Adjudicative Guidelines; and conduct CI case support for federal investigative agencies.

Manage and prepare detailed reports, based on existing investigative documentation, existing electronic databases of foreign intelligence contact information, and other CI inquiries and assessments.

Routinely brief and provide investigative leads to the GTM as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in foreign area studies, International Relations, security studies, History, Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, Space Systems, or Political Science and 10+ years of relevant experience with Intelligence and/or Counterintelligence; if holding an Associate’s degree, 15+ years of relevant experience.

Successful completion of a state or federal/military law enforcement academy or counterintelligence academy/formal training curriculum.

Interviewing, elicitation, and/or interrogation experience per the applicable level stated in the table below.

Completion of a formal state or federal training program in a relevant field.

Experience interacting with agencies across the DoD and IC.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge, familiarity, and/or training in adjudicative guidelines outlined in ICD 704.

Clearance Requirements

Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Occasionally move around inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Frequently communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers, and may involve delivering presentations.

Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
