The Job We are seeking a Marketing and Sales Manager for a full-time, on-site, and occasionally remote role located in Amherst, VA. This employee will oversee all tasting room operations while leading the winery’s direct-to-consumer strategy. Manage social media and digital marketing, represent the winery at festivals and off-site events, coordinate and execute on-site events, and serve as a primary point of contact for vendor and partner communications. Drive sales through e-commerce and fintech platforms, streamline digital transactions, and support customer engagement across in-person and online channels. Due to the nature of this small business, you will be assigned tasks all across the board. We host two festivals on-site that you will promote on multiple fronts and be one of the primary points of contact during. You will work in the tasting room and at wine festivals throughout Virginia as well, pouring tastings and selling wine. Occasionally, there is a need for graphic design regarding menus, event signage, wine bottle labels, etc. We work closely with the community for festival promotion as well, which typically looks like communication with companies regarding sponsorships and funding. Regular lifting of 10-15+ pounds is expected.

Marketing strategy, brand development, and advertising skills
Sales, relationship management, and customer service experience
Event planning and coordination expertise
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in digital design and content creation
Leadership abilities
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Knowledge of the wine industry, hospitality/coms/marketing sector is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

Work Schedule & Environment This role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings during peak seasons and events. The position is primarily on-site at the vineyard and tasting room, with occasional remote work for marketing and administrative tasks. Travel to festivals and off-site events throughout Virginia is expected (meals and transportation recompensated).
Physical & Practical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift and carry 10–15+ pounds regularly
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
