Digital Producer
KRQE Media Group in Albuquerque is seeking a Digital Producer to help drive the future of our newsroom. As the company continues to invest in digital products, our team is at the forefront, utilizing new tools, workflows, and analytics to grow and engage our online audience.
Responsibilities
Write quick‑turn stories for the website, app, and other platforms
Monitor all forms of media (print, TV, digital, blogs, and social) and be quick to report breaking news stories, always on the hunt for exclusive and trending content that will grow engagement and drive loyal, local traffic
Review, edit, and publish clean, accurate copy
Use digital platforms to reinforce brand identity and drive audiences to broadcast and streaming
Research background information to ensure accuracy and strong context
Gather information through research, calls, interviews and event coverage
Pitch on‑brand, local and trending digital stories during meetings
Prioritize packaging content that grows page views per visitor and time on site, using headline testing, metric tools and observed patterns to guide decision making
Shoot and edit occasional video for digital and on‑air use
Find new, innovative ways to use digital tools to engage viewers
Build positive working relationships with newsroom staff and management, work collaboratively on enterprise content, and create opportunities to market web content on broadcast
Maintain expert‑level understanding of Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram and emerging platforms
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills
Degree in journalism or related field; newspaper or digital news experience preferred
Strong writer
Knowledge of SEO best practices and AP Style
Organized, technical problem solver and quick decision maker
Proficiency in MS Office; HTML, CSS and Photoshop experience a plus
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive, solutions‑oriented attitude
Strong attention to detail and openness to feedback
