Top 3-5 Must Have Skills
Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD and PTC Creo are a minimum) Hands‑on experience with PLM/EDM systems for drawing/model revision control and release workflows Experience with MBD, DFM, DFA, and other manufacturing practices such as DFMEA and PFMEA Visio pro, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft office suite tool experience Job Summary
We are seeking a CAD Designer/drafter to support our engineering team in developing and releasing detailed 2D/3D CAD models and engineering drawings. Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD and PTC Creo are a minimum) is required. Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools such as Siemens Teamcenter is required. Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain drawings in AutoCAD and PTC Creo. Model parts and assemblies in PTC Creo and generate associated drawing deliverables for customers. Interpret and apply engineering design intent, functional requirements, manufacturing/assembly requirements, and inspection requirements to the drawing deliverables. Apply engineering drawing practices in accordance with ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.41 to ensure clarity and manufacturability with the drawing packages. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams to clarify ambiguities, implement design changes (ECOs/ECNs), update drawings and CAD models accordingly. Use PLM system (Teamcenter) to manage drawing/model revisions, release workflows, revision history, drawing numbering, part/assembly and ensure configuration control. Conduct self‑checking and peer reviews of drawings/models for completeness, accuracy and standards compliance. Support change control: update drawings and CAD models in response to engineering changes. Assist with supplier documentation when required: generate drawing packages suitable for supplier manufacturing/inspection, ensure deliverables meet downstream needs. Provide timely status reporting, elevate issues or discrepancies (e.g., manufacturability, tolerance stacks, drawing clarity) and support drawing release schedules. Must‑Have Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 4 years (recommend ~5‑7 year) of CAD design/drawing experience in a mechanical/manufacturing or aerospace environment. Proven proficiency in AutoCAD and PTC Creo for parts and assemblies. Demonstrated experience applying ASME drawing practices and GD&T (ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.41 ) in creating engineering drawings. Hands‑on experience with PLM/EDM systems for drawing/model revision control and release workflows. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, assembly/interference issues, and how drawing/model output drives manufacturing/inspection. Detail‑oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple drawing deliverables simultaneously and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills: able to interact with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain; interpret design requirements; ask clarifying questions; respond to feedback. Experience reviewing detailed mechanical and assembly drawings for quality/drawing accuracy. Experience with MBD, DFM, DFA, and other manufacturing practices such as DFMEA and PFMEA. Visio pro, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft office suite tool experience. Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
Previous aerospace industry experience (aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers) including experience with complex assemblies or mechanical assemblies. Experience with large CAD assemblies, sheet metal design, composite materials, machined parts, or high‑tolerance aerospace components. Familiarity with other CAD/PLM tools beyond AutoCAD/Creo/Teamcenter (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Windchill) and associated workflows. Exposure to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and working knowledge of manufacturing/inspection downstream drivers. Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
