Organization Overview The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau (CAVB) is a 501(c)(6) destination marketing organization dedicated to driving tourism and overnight visitation to the Cadillac area. Through strategic marketing, partnerships, and storytelling, CAVB works to attract visitors, support lodging partners fill rooms, celebrate local businesses, and strengthen the regional economy. The organization promotes the area’s outdoor recreation, events, group travel, and year-round experiences to position Cadillac as a compelling destination for leisure and group travelers.

Position Overview The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support the execution of marketing and communications initiatives that position the greater Cadillac area as a premier destination for outdoor recreation, overnight getaways, and group travel.

This is a junior-level, full-time, in-person position based in CAVB’s downtown Cadillac office. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in managing day-to-day marketing activities across paid, earned, and owned channels. The position works closely with internal staff, third-party agencies, media partners, and destination stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and eager to grow within the tourism and destination marketing field. While not required, candidates with experience in tourism, hospitality, recreation, restaurants, or retail are encouraged to apply.

The work produced in this role directly supports local economic impact by increasing visitation, extending length of stay, and strengthening Cadillac’s visibility as a year-round destination.

Key Responsibilities Marketing & Digital Content

Maintain and update content across CAVB website properties

Develop and manage a monthly content calendar to ensure timely deployment of creative assets

Draft, schedule, and publish social media content across multiple platforms

Support media relations efforts including drafting press releases and media alerts

Maintain a digital press room and media asset library

Assist with photography and videography, including basic editing and coordination with external vendors

Coordinate with CAVB’s agency partners on campaign development and execution

Brand Management & Graphic Design

Maintain a strong working knowledge of CAVB brand guidelines and messaging

Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and communications materials

Design and produce marketing collateral using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

Support destination marketing initiatives that drive overnight visitation

Communications & Public Relations

Support email marketing efforts including content development, layout, and deployment using HubSpot

Lead the content, design, and layout of CAVB’s eNewsletters

Assist with media outreach and coordination of familiarization (FAM) tours

Draft press releases and other media announcements

Support strategic communications initiatives, as needed

Qualifications Education

Associate degree or higher in marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, hospitality, or tourism

Equivalent professional experience will be considered

Experience

One to three years of relevant experience preferred

Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator

Experience designing for both print and digital platforms

Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and Google Analytics

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders

Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to changing priorities

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods

Frequent use of standard office equipment

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Occasional walking and regional travel by car

This is a full-time, in-office position requiring five days per week on-site in downtown Cadillac, Michigan. Occasional travel within the region to partner locations and events may be required.
