General Summary The Assistant Visual Merchandiser supports the execution of brand standards and visual merchandising strategies across assigned store locations. In partnership with store, field, and corporate leadership, this role delivers consistent, brand‑right visual presentations that enhance product storytelling, elevate the customer experience, and support sales performance. This position also assists with training, operational execution, and special visual projects, including new store builds and seasonal refreshes.

Essential Job Functions

Visual Merchandising & Brand Execution

Execute visual merchandising standards, seasonal directives, and brand guidelines across store locations.

Perform floor moves, seasonal transitions, and visual refreshes in partnership with store teams.

Partner with the Visual Merchandising Manager to ensure timely and accurate execution of all visual directives.

Support new store builds and remodels by assisting with fixture, décor, and visual resource planning, ordering, and delivery timelines.

Identify and resolve in‑store visual challenges while maintaining a clean, organized, and on‑brand presentation.

Leadership & Training

Support a positive, inclusive store environment that promotes productivity, accountability, and visual excellence.

Train and coach store teams on visual standards, merchandising techniques, customer service expectations, and store processes.

Provide clear, actionable direction while in stores to ensure consistent execution.

Partner with store, district, and territory leadership to support visual and operational training initiatives.

Business Operations & Reporting

Review weekly merchandising and sales reports to identify opportunities and successes; communicate insights to field and corporate leadership.

Assist in developing and executing plans to support visual objectives and monitor progress.

Support daily store operations including inventory management, promotional setups, and visual prioritization based on business needs.

Ensure stores remain clean, organized, and operational at all times.

Communication & Collaboration

Maintain professional, effective written and verbal communication with store teams, field leadership, and corporate partners.

Provide visual feedback, store updates, and photo submissions to support alignment and best‑practice sharing.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to balance visual standards, operational priorities, and business objectives.

Customer Experience

Partner with Store Managers to ensure teams deliver a high level of customer service aligned with brand standards.

Support initiatives that enhance the in‑store customer experience through strong visual storytelling and merchandising execution.

Be available to customers on the sales floor to assist with needs, questions, and concerns as required.

Safety & Loss Prevention

Adhere to and promote company safety standards and best practices.

Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining awareness of LP procedures, including zone coverage, inventory controls, and asset protection practices.

Report suspected or known theft in accordance with company policy.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge and passion for the brand and retail environment, including visual merchandising.

Skill in completing multiple tasks at once.

Skill in identifying and resolving customer problems.

Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, and vendors.

Ability to work independently and meet managerial goals.

Required Education, Experience & Requirements

1+ years of visual merchandising experience in a retail setting preferred; internship or related education may be considered.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Coursework or enrollment in visual merchandising, fashion merchandising, marketing, retail management, business, or design‑related programs preferred.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak selling periods.

Preferred location to be centrally located in or near Orange County.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly by car and/or air, including overnight stays.

Physical Requirements Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read reports.

Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. with assistance.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources. Must be able to perform hands‑on projects, including fixture setup and light refurbishment works as needed.

Travel: Must be able to travel via car and/or air, with ability to stay in overnight accommodations as needed.
