Communications Specialist

DNI Emerging Technologies is seeking a qualified Communications Specialist to support the Army Systems Engineering and Program Management Services (Army SEPM). This is a full-time/permanent position with excellent benefits and outstanding compensation including full medical, dental, 401(k), vacation, and holiday pay.
DNI Emerging Technologies is also seeking a Public Communications Specialist to support the Futures and Concepts Command’s Communications Team located at Fort Eustis, VA. The Public Communications Specialist is responsible for content creation, management and coordination of written articles, media releases, talking points, social media posts, and platform management for a major U.S. Army program executive office client.
Responsibilities
Feature and news article writing
Management of social media platforms and analytical development (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, website: army.mil)
Photography (including travel)
Video documentation, news releases, broadcast production (traditional and social media platforms)
Production of command publications (newsletters, placemats, podcasts, etc.)
Creation of professionally rendered graphics for command needs, events, and limited marketing-type activity
Staff coordination and professional relationship building
Speech draft writing and limited community relations engagement coordination
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience
Approx. 20% travel required
Knowledge of communication principles, methods, practices, and techniques to develop public affairs projects aimed at enhancing understanding of groups or individuals opposed or indifferent to significant agency aspects
Journalistic writing, copy writing/editing, and script development skills
Ability to prepare and edit written correspondence, ensuring proper use of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Working knowledge of social media methodology and practices
Defense Information School (DINFOS) certification or training in the Public Affairs Qualification Course or Public Affairs and Communication Strategy Qualification Course preferred
Military familiarity and understanding would be preferred
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. U.S. citizenship is required for this clearance.
