The
Retail Manager I
is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, achieving growth goals, ensuring operational efficiencies, and developing Financial Service Representatives in a branch with assets of less than $50MM. This producing position focuses on client relationship development across the full spectrum of banking services, aligning with First Interstate Bank's Service Commitments and core values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate integrated delivery of financial services and products, including referring clients to appropriate departments or divisions. Manage effective use of customer relationship management software, including First 15, recording activities, incidents, referrals, and marketing. Use the dashboard to monitor and measure performance. Ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and quality standards are met. Participate in and enforce all aspects of branch security per First Interstate Bank's security policy. Build positive community relations in the branch market area; coordinate with other branches to foster One First Interstate in the community. Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions and apply them to designated responsibilities. Keep up to date on regulation changes and complete all required annual or job‑specific training. Promote and embody the First Interstate Bank's corporate culture in all actions and words. Take personal initiative and serve as a positive example for others; embrace the bank’s vision, values, and mission. Management Responsibilities
Manage one or two branches within a market. Oversee selection, placement, performance, development, promotion, and termination of branch employees. Coach and mentor employees to develop the skills required for their roles. Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Attention to detail; verbal and written instructions. Maintain confidentiality. Use tact and diplomacy with clients and co‑workers. Working knowledge of computers and software. Demonstrated sales skills. Ability to coach, mentor, or train others as a subject‑matter expert. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, percentages, graph interpretation. Problem‑solving skills for varied, limited‑standardization scenarios. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – required. Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field – preferred. 1–3 years banking industry experience, including supervisory or management experience – required. Licenses and Certifications
