VITA is seeking an Azure Cloud Architect to serve their Richmond office. This position will be hybrid with 3 days on site.
Job Responsibilities
Advising agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure including in-place migrations/refactoring.
Make recommendations on lift and shift and on-premises to cloud native migrations.
Make recommendations with refactoring within Azure environment.
Conduct testing within Azure to show minimal viable products of an architecture.
Will need to understand available offerings from COV, MSI and other connected parties.
Will make configurations to Azure in support of agency-level objectives. Configurations will be primarily Azure-based services.
Required skills and experience
Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals
Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications
Knowledge and experience in designing cloud solutions encapsulating all aspects of design that meet business requirements.
Strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architecture
Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Services (examples Azure Key Vault, Entra ID, etc.)
Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web App/App Service, Containers, micro-services architecture and server-less architecture.
Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security principles including zero-trust, network segmentation, just-in-time access, conditional access etc.
Knowledge of availability options. Demonstrated experience architecting solutions that meet RPO and RTO objectives in Azure.
Knowledge and experience in DevOps including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
Knowledge and experience in data storage products like SQL Server and Oracle. Knowledge of non-relational data storage products like Cosmos DB.
Experience as an on-premises architect for 5+ years
Strong communication skills. Candidate should be able to effectively communicate with technical and business staff.
Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect required
