
Job Summary:
Identify talent, developing capabilities and leadership in others, building a high performing and high potential team
Provide leadership, motivate team performance, execute corporate directives and develop strategies to maximize people development
Coach and set sales targets for Sales Account Managers
Travel approximately 50% of time or as required to manage the needs of district
Ensure maximum sales coverage with resources available to achieve peak performance; put metrics in place to measure success over time.
Allocate territories to appropriate sales executives
Report performance and sales results to appropriate management
Responsible for account management
Collaborate with other District Sales Managers to ensure sales goals are achieved
Maintain detailed knowledge of the company’s service package & operational capabilities
Stay aware of competitor activity
Responsible for all hiring, employee counseling, training and terminations: assuring they are processed according to proper guidelines

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background; Master’s Degree a plus
Minimum of one to three years of experience in the LTL industry required
Minimum of two years experience in management, preferably Sales Management
Previous sales and sales management experience
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills; team oriented; conceptual/consultative sales skills
Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable MVR.
Strong people management skills
Strong strategic planner
Must possess excellent communication skills and problem solving skills
Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
Must be able to interact well with others
Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
Must be authorized to work in the United States
