Job Description
As a Studio Designer at Williams‑Sonoma Kitchen, you will create and manage original print and pattern artwork for seasonal collections across a variety of home‑product categories. You will translate concept direction into factory‑ready artwork, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and drive the brand’s print voice forward.
Responsibilities
- Concept and develop seasonal print stories and icons that align with the overarching brand concept.
- Translate seasonal concept direction into cohesive and innovative print collections.
- Curate and build print and pattern stories for all textile categories, including table linens, kitchen textiles, and bakeware.
- Create a seasonal calendar and workflow strategy for print and pattern development.
- Create original artwork using mixed media and bring it into CAD.
- Color separate and provide colorway options.
- Build seasonal color palettes, both digitally and physically, using established color standards.
- Provide direction and comments on artwork with external freelancers and studios.
- Create and maintain digital concept and presentation boards.
- Present seasonal print collections and concepts to design leadership, merchandising, and cross‑functional teams.
- Work proactively to stay ahead of production timelines.
- Maintain print and pattern archives and files, both digitally and physically.
- Shop competitors regularly to stay abreast of trends.
Qualifications
- Portfolio link (or PDF samples) required on resume.
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of textile or print design experience, preferably in home furnishings.
- Expert level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Highly skilled in hand‑drawing, painting, and designing original artwork across styles.
- In‑depth knowledge of textiles, fabrications, printing, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience developing product directly with factories is a plus.
- Highly developed taste and sense of color.
- Ability to work independently and within a fast‑paced team environment.
- Excellent prioritization, multi‑tasking, and adaptability skills.
- Strong organization, calendar adherence, and ownership.
- Excellent time management.
- Enthusiasm for the Williams‑Sonoma brand.
- Position requires on‑site presence in the San Francisco office.

Pay Range: $80,000–$90,000 (actual pay based on experience and market).
