Description and Functions Open Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable, and efficient working environment for Wyoming Military Department employees in the Northeast Quadrant of Wyoming. This position will assist in maintaining the Armories and Field Maintenance Shops in excess of 105,400 square feet of facility space, plus 35 acres of grounds and landscaping.

This position is required to complete inspections, routine, scheduled, deferred, and emergency maintenance, to facilities located in Casper, Douglas, Gillette, Sheridan, Worland, Lovell, and sometimes Lander.

Areas of responsibility include buildings and grounds maintenance as needed and required to maintain the buildings and grounds at assigned facilities. Utilize associated equipment to maintain Statewide Wyoming Military Department Facilities and Grounds, including roofing, walls, flooring, door hardware, concrete, fixtures, HVAC, minor electrical, minor plumbing, and building management systems. Establish work priorities, assess the urgency of maintenance issues, prioritize work orders, establish cost estimates, seek funding approval, procure repair or replacement parts, anticipate seasonal maintenance demands, and maintain and account for all assigned equipment. Receive work orders, resource work orders, and report work order completion to the supervisor. Update work orders in the work order system. Identify and request supplies, equipment needs, and materials to complete assigned tasks. Maintain vehicle fleet and perform minor repairs to vehicles and equipment. Provides call-in or call-back services in support of seasonal needs.

Perform interior and exterior building maintenance tasks involving all building components, including but not limited to windows, walls, ceilings, floors, floor coverings, soffits, fascia, roofs, gutters, downspouts, doors, and door components. Locksmith tasks include: office and general door locks, exit devices and closers, sophisticated door locks and hardware for high-security areas, door hardware installation, repairs, and maintenance. Electrical tasks include: light bulb and lamp replacement, light fixture lenses, and globe repairs. Assists with HVAC troubleshooting, repair, and routine maintenance. Assist with plumbing troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. Work with contractors and vendors to make sure work is being completed as requested by the WYMD. Duties also include providing preventative maintenance to assigned facilities, such as repairing and installing caulking, drywall repair and painting, and ceiling tile replacement. Hang pictures and amenities as requested by occupants. Install furniture, repair furniture, and assemble furniture as needed. Assist occupants of facilities in moving office furniture and equipment to better use the general and office space as needed. Turf, landscaping, and grounds maintenance to include mowing, trimming, tree trimming, weed control, pest control, irrigation system repairs and maintenance, raking, aeration, tree removal, planting, shrub and flower garden maintenance, soil amending, and preparation. installation of outdoor furnishings such as benches, fencing, ashtrays, signage, trash receptacles, flag poles, and barricades, and all other grounds maintenance needed using a variety of grounds and other related equipment, tools, and machines, both hand and power operated. Performs routine daily exterior grounds clean-up. Called in for snow removal as required. Duties include snow removal at all assigned locations occupied by the Wyoming Military Department. Perform snow removal from parking lots, sidewalks, stairs, stoops, porches, entries, ramps, and fire escapes using truck-mounted plows, hand and power tools, and snow-melting products. Performs weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance on wheeled vehicles, tractors, trailers, ATVs, mowing, and snow removal equipment. Assists with tool and equipment inventory as needed and assigned, and as required by the supervisor. Utilize computer workstations for logging information into the work order system, completing work orders, and receiving/sending emails. Submits purchase requests for building materials, replacement parts for building repairs and maintenance, tools, tractors, mowers, and other equipment. Assists other Buildings and Grounds Employees, Skilled Trades Crews, Supervisors, and Managers with assigned tasks as needed. This position will also assist with Custodial work when needed. Qualifications PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: **Required to obtain/maintain a driver's license **Required to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of Safety and Safety Regulations and OSHA Knowledge of Building Code, Life Safety Code, and ADA Regulations Extensive working knowledge of all the skilled trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, locksmithing, light, and heavy equipment operations) Knowledge of electrical diagnostics Knowledge of power woodworking, metalworking, and masonry equipment Knowledge of grades, kinds, and uses of various woods and wood products Knowledge of concrete masonry units and bricks, asphalt, and concrete repair Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to construction operations and vehicle and/or aircraft maintenance facilities MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Substitution:

Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Required to travel up to 40% of the time. Travels to various sites in the Northwest Quadrant (Casper, Douglas, Gillette, Sheridan, Worland, Lovell). Most travel is scheduled as Day Trips. Employees will be subject to after-hours call-ins and callbacks for emergency situations and snow removal operations. NOTES:
