The Government/Breaking News reporter is a key member of the Denver Gazette team and will provide content in the form of breaking new for the website and our daily digital newspaper and political coverage of cities and counties in the Denver area.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for reporting on suburban government meetings, elections, housing, transportation and traffic issues, education, and other news. This hybrid reporter also covers breaking news for digital and E-Edition platforms. Collaborate and maintain strong working relationship with other Denver Gazette staff to assure growth of audiences and to increase loyalty and improve engagement. Convey news and tell stories using multiple tools-including writing, social media, photos and video. Develop a wide range of political sources in the Denver metro area. Contribute briefs column to Focus on Denver pages in Colorado Politics magazine each week. Develop and maintain good relations with the local community Other Duties:

Minimum Education & Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism or mass communications. Minimum of three to five years of experience at a daily newspaper preferred.
