Japanese / English Bilingual Travel Agent - Travel Agency (33946)

A travel agency in the Manhattan area is seeking an experienced Japanese/English bilingual Travel Agent. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, while managing domestic and international itineraries for both inbound and outbound travel. This is a full-time, direct-hire position. Japanese / English Bilingual Trave Agent : Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, budgets, and special requirements. Research and recommend travel options, including flights, hotels, tours, transportation, and travel insurance. Book and manage travel reservations using booking systems (GDS/online platforms), ensuring accuracy and timely confirmations. Provide travel advice and support, including visa information, destination insights, safety guidelines, and itinerary planning. Handle changes, cancellations, and travel issues, offering prompt solutions and maintaining customer satisfaction. Maintain detailed client records and ensure all bookings comply with company policies and travel regulations. Upsell and cross-sell travel products, such as upgrades, excursions, and insurance, to maximize value for clients and revenue for the agency. Japanese / English Bilingual Travel Agent: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the travel industry, preferably in a client-facing or booking-focused role. Must be able to speak, read and write in Japanese at Business level or above Strong knowledge of domestic and international travel procedures, including flights, hotels, and itinerary planning. Experience using travel booking systems (GDS or online booking platforms). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
