DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed. Store Operations Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability. Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce. Build produce displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. May operate and maintain Salad Bar and Fresh-Made areas (where applicable). Follow and maintain department standards and requirements, including product freshness. Employee Management Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing duties. Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees in store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement opportunities. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Compliance & Standards Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Inventory & Financial Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate product. Organize and maintain produce cooler. Control shrink and costs. Equipment & Technical Skills Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
