Job Title: Lead Bonder

Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! As long as you are eager and willing to learn, we will provide training to teach you how to excel as a Lead Bonder. Working with lead (a heavy metal) and other various metals, a lead bonder is required to interpret construction drawings with basic mathematical ability. Job tasks include layout, cutting, assembly and installation of lead panels inside of lead bays, including caulking of the lead panel into place (this is done with pneumatic process of chiseling it into place). Must be able to be a designated lead worker/heavy metal employee (this includes a yearly physical and blood work) and be capable of becoming/maintaining qualification as radiation worker. Individuals will be required to lift up to 40 lbs. to support the task of installing and manufacturing. Showering at the end of shifts and changing into none contaminated clothes on site required for lead working tasks. Individuals need to develop a working knowledge of structural fit-up/weld symbols, burning and grinding operations. Work assignments will be accomplished using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, and shipyard procedures. Required: Must have a High School diploma, GED, or be a current High School Senior, OR have 2+ years of relevant technical experience 0-5 years of experience relevant to this job description Must be able to work all shifts and in all environments as well as Radiological areas of the boat Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools Preferred: Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs Previous metal fabrication experience Military shipbuilding, manufacturing and automotive industry experience Skills

Willing to accept road job assignments Must be able to follow all safety procedures, lead compliance plan and technical work documents associated with daily work assignments as a Lead Bonder Physical Qualifications
