NewsNation - Senior Producer for Elizabeth Vargas Position: Senior Producer (New York) Company: Nexstar Media Group, Inc. NewsNation is looking for an experienced network-level producer to support the daily production of a new daily cable news program. The senior producer will play a key leadership role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the daily show. The position is based at the network's offices in New York. Duties & Responsibilities Assist anchor and executive producer in setting show's editorial direction Help build rundowns for regular programming, breaking news and special programming Coordinate the team: segment producers, associate producers, editors and other staff Copy edit scripts and content Serve as a senior leader in the control room Help implement training and best practices for team Provide ongoing mentoring and support to staff Manage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teams Perform special projects and other duties as assigned Requirements & Skills Ten or more years of editorial experience in a fast‑paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital) Excellent writing and copy‑editing skills Segment producing experience required, line producing experience a plus Strong organizational and people skills are vital Self‑starter with excellent communication skills and a strong track record of bringing ideas to the table Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $140,000 – $160,000 (annualized) per experience.
