CGP: Sales and Use Tax Associate

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Associate to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $38.00 to $45.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day sales tax activities, including supporting ongoing account updates and backlog resolution.
* Research and resolve sales tax disputes, including short-paid invoices, using SAP and internal documentation.
* Verify exemption certificates and determine customer taxability based on shipping location and Nexus rules.
* Review billing blocks and confirm tax coding for new Ship-To accounts, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
* Assist with preparing and filing consolidated corporate tax returns and maintaining accurate tax records.
Requirements:
* Demonstrate strong experience with SAP, specifically for tax coding, dispute tagging, and workflow processes.
* Possess knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax regulations and National Sales Tax Nexus considerations.
* Exhibit the ability to review reseller versus exemption certificate qualifications.
* Communicate clearly with customers to obtain missing documentation and explain tax determination outcomes.
* Understand billing workflows and collaborate on credit memos and invoicing issues.
Qualifications:
* Bring experience handling exemption certificate processing, preferably within Docuware.
* Apply problem-solving skills to navigate backlog items and escalate complex tax issues appropriately.
* Display familiarity with the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, especially with physical goods and rentals.
* Use ERP knowledge to support tax compliance and streamline AP/AR activities.
* Maintain accuracy while working independently and contribute to cross-functional communication.
