Employee Relations Business Partner
We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join our team in Minnetonka, Minnesota. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with HR professionals, legal teams, and strategic stakeholders to address complex employee relations matters. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in employment laws and workplace investigations while providing thoughtful guidance and fostering consistency in policy application.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and solutions for employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct workplace investigations, ranging from basic to complex, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, legal teams, and other stakeholders to address sensitive issues and develop effective resolutions.
- Manage cases involving leave accommodations, health and safety concerns, and position eliminations with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Draft clear and defensible investigation reports, offering actionable recommendations based on findings.
- Coach and mentor less experienced team members to enhance their skills and promote consistency across the employee relations function.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within employee relations and contribute to the implementation of enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws such as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and other regulations.
- Balance business needs, employee experience, and risk factors when resolving complex workplace issues.
- Support the development and execution of employee relations strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, including ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Proven experience conducting workplace investigations, including drafting detailed reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage sensitive and politically nuanced cases with professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to balance risk, business needs, and employee experience in decision-making.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members to promote skill development.
- Proficiency in managing multiple cases and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with HR practices and policies, as well as a commitment to ensuring compliance.
