Summary Under supervision of the Assistant Director of the Senior Services program, coordinate all educational and recreational activities of the older adult center network. Oversight of all funded and non‑funded services provided to older adult participants.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain proper oversight of stocking and re‑stocking supplies for program.

Coordinate the planning of activities both virtual and on‑site such as:

Arts and Culture

Education and Recreation

Health Promotion

Physical Health & Exercise

Nutrition Education

Technology

Manage a robust evidence‑based program for health and wellness activities.

Prepare monthly activity calendars with diverse activities that encompass all contractual units of service.

Maintain and comply with the standards set by the Department for the Aging (DFTA) and the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), including city, state, and federal governing guidelines.

Ensure senior safety as required by the Fire Department of New York (FDNY).

Train volunteers and staff of the activities services program.

Supervise all Activities Specialists and their duties.

Report potential unsafe conditions to the Assistant Director and/or Director in a timely manner.

Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date required documents and records are kept neat and organized. Observe STARS data for accuracy weekly.

Meet all deadlines of assigned duties:

Monthly Activities Calendar

Monthly Units of Service data report

Monthly Activities program report

Maintain and ensure that all unit targets and goals are met by staff.

Submit all activity sheet documentation to the Data Specialist daily.

Plan and coordinate recreational, social, educational, and health activities with staff.

Maintain an accurate list of support linkage groups.

Oversee that older adults are referred to in‑home services if needed.

Manage all activities staff and programming across the Elmcor Network.

Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner for the program.

Develop alternative solutions with the Assistant Director or Director.

Qualifications

Must receive/obtain a Food Protection License from the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, and receive a copy of the state guidelines. These guidelines must be followed at all times.

Must receive/obtain First Aid, CPR, AED training.

Must receive/obtain a Certificate of Gerontology.

Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Must have a High School Diploma with 5+ years’ experience in senior services or a related field in a managerial capacity.

Benefits and Schedule M‑F 10 AM – 6 PM, flexibility in schedule based on program need.
