The Role In this six-month contract, you’ll audit current and in-development UI to identify and document terminology, naming conventions, and language patterns. Collaborating with content designers, you’ll help create and maintain a terminology database and support the development of a comprehensive content design system. You’ll surface inconsistencies, propose clear naming standards, and ensure alignment across product, legal, and localization teams. As the system matures, you’ll help define a governance model—leveraging automation or AI—to keep our language assets current and evolving.
What You’ll Do
Audit game UIs and documentation to collect and analyze existing terminology and language patterns
Develop and maintain a centralized terminology database for the games ecosystem
Collaborate with content designers to ensure terminology aligns with content patterns and style guidance
Identify inconsistencies, redundancies, and gaps in naming conventions; propose clear, scalable solutions
Partner with localization, legal, and product teams to ensure terminology meets member needs
Help define and implement a governance strategy to keep terminology accurate and up to date, using automation or AI wherever possible
About You You have a passion for language precision and consistency, and you excel at establishing clear, scalable terminology systems. You’re comfortable navigating complex technical and creative environments, and you thrive on bringing order to ambiguity. You enjoy collaborating with cross‑functional partners and are skilled at making nuanced language choices accessible and actionable.
Your Skills
Deep expertise in terminology management, lexicography, or content standardization
Experience building and maintaining terminology databases or glossaries
Strong systems thinking and attention to detailExcellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to advocate for clear, consistent language across diverse stakeholder groups
Your Qualifications
5+ years of experience in terminology management, linguistics, content design, or related field
Experience working with digital products, games, or technology environments
Familiarity with terminology management tools and best practices
Outstanding organizational and documentation skills
Ability to flex across Pacific & Eastern Time hours
