About The Role As a Survey Party Chief, you lead a field crew, taking charge of boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic data collection, and construction staking.
With a strong foundation in surveying principles, you operate and adjust instruments such as total stations and GPS/GNSS receivers, including
Trimble hardware and software
(TSC3ovec, Access, TBC). Experience with
laser scanning instruments
is an added asset.
You interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, and deeds to collect all data required for accurate survey work. Whether leveling, traversing, or mapping a new subdivision, you bring skill and attention to detail. You’re familiar with
AutoCAD Civil 3D
and understand how your data integrates into the broader workflow.
With at least
four years of experience , batting a keen eye for boundaries and construction processes, you stake accurately using alignments, templates, and detailed construction plans—ensuring each phase is executed correctly. You also consider
budgets and timelines , safety procedures, and lead your team with professionalism and efficiency that clients expect from Galloway.
Beyond technical skills, you communicate effectively—keeping your team informed, coordinating with other disciplines, કોઈ representing Galloway to strengthen client relationships. Your field performance helps drive
new business development
by delivering reliable work.
You hold a valid driver’s license and travel as needed across the region, sometimes on short notice.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum four years of field experience in land surveying.
Starting pay ranges from $31.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
