Mission
RINA Consulting is looking for an Outfitting Inspector for the Marine Consulting Business Unit. #LI-MB4
Key Accountabilities The contract is for a fixed term, dependent on the project's timeline.
Mainly take care of all the inspections regarding construction of the outfitting of the ship (pipes, ducts, cable trays, etc.)
Reading and understanding outfitting drawings
Study the outfitting approved drawings
Verify the correspondence between approved and shipyard construction drawings
Study all welding procedures applied for the construction of the outfitting
Verify the welding material certificates and storage according to the requirements
Make consideration about mounting and positioning of the outfitting
Learn the internal procedures of the shipyard from the steel material storage, identification of the material to the completion of the construction and delivery
Study the shipyard booklets on typical arrangements and mountings of the outfitting
Take care of the tests required during construction: tightness, strength, NDT: VT, RT, UT, PT
Verify the performance of all the equipment of the ship according to the contractual requirements
In cooperation with the shipyard QC department, record and follow up of find and NC related to the outfitting
Report to the Team Leader
Education High School Diploma/GED in Naval Engineering
Qualifications
+3 years’ experience working as a Junior Surveyor or minimum 5 years’ experience in the engineering or survey fields within the marine industry or other applicable industry to their specialization.
Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and, before assignment, with their future work.
Ability to develop a working knowledge of Class Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy.
Ability to understand engineering plans and have basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.
Ability, in general, to assess the suitability of certified materials and products supplied for the new building.
Ability, in general, to assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been built in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory inspections, tests and trials.
Ability, in general, to report the activities carried out at shipyard and track relevant records.
Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and machinery.
Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.
Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.
