DESCRIPTION OF WORK As the Chief Real Estate Appraiser, you will ensure appraisals are conducted efficiently and accurately, reflecting fair market value and providing appropriate compensation for any damage. Your leadership will keep projects on time and within state and federal procedures, policies, and requirements. In addition to overseeing the appraisal process, you will handle all excess right‑of‑way sales, including advertising, agreements of sales and deeds; conduct bid opening and auction sales; and respond to public requests concerning excess right‑of‑way.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full‑time employment

Work hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch

Telework: Opportunity to work from home part‑time, up to 5 days per pay period, provided you have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved location inside Pennsylvania. Telework eligibility may change; details may be provided during interview.

Alternate work schedule (AWS) may be available

Salary: In some cases, starting salary may be non‑negotiable

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

One year as a General Real Estate Appraiser (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

Three years of professional real estate appraisal experience, including one year appraising all types of real property.

Special Requirements

Active Pennsylvania Certified General Appraiser certification

Active motor vehicle license

Other Requirements

Must meet PA residency requirement

Must be able to perform essential job functions
