About the Role We are looking for a dedicated, hands‑on Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to help maintain and elevate the quality of our course. If you have turf experience, a strong work ethic, and a passion for golf, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career.
Annually ranked as one of the best golf courses in Ohio and awarded the Course of the Year by the National Golf Course Owners Association, Windmill Lakes Golf Club offers amazing scenery with rolling hills, a parkland setting, and large undulating greens that are fast and true. The course boasts more than 50 bunkers and six lakes. With only two par‑fives, the Windmill Lakes layout challenges golfers of all skill levels with a number of tough par‑fours.
This position plays a critical role in daily operations, assisting the Superintendent in all aspects of course maintenance.
Responsibilities
Assist in all turf care, fertilization, irrigation, and mowing schedules
Supervise crew members to ensure efficient and safe work practices
Operate and maintain small engine equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.)
Scout for turf diseases, pests, and irrigation issues
Help implement seasonal course improvement projects
Ensure golf course is prepared for daily play and tournaments
Communicate with Superintendent about progress and maintenance needs
Key Initiatives for 2026 Schedule
Installation of a new pump station
Reclaiming tee and green sizes that have shrunk over time
Improving overall turf quality
Qualifications
Golf course or turf experience required (education or hands‑on)
Willingness to obtain Pesticide Applicator License
Strong interest or love of golf
Familiarity with small engine mechanics a big plus
Positive attitude, team‑oriented, and dependable
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
