Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Specialist to join our team in Raritan, NJ. The position involves working with internal customers, patients, and physician offices to ensure all patient care needs are addressed accurately and efficiently. The Specialist will provide product education, handle a wide variety of questions, and deliver market‑leading services. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving health and lives.
Pay Range:
$18.25-$22/hr
Work Schedule:
Monday‑Friday and alternating Saturdays (11pm‑7:30am)
Benefits:
Employees scheduled for 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medicalignan, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, tuition reimbursement, and an employee stock purchase plan. Casual, PRN & part‑time employees scheduled for less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan only.
Job Responsibilities
Act as a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
Resolve internal and external customer requests via calls, instant messenger, and email communications.
Communicate with customers in a respectfulარტ professional manner.
Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
Provide customer education and information as needed.
Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior medical/clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
Comfortable handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office.
