The IT Training Specialist supports the overall vision of Keck Medicine’s Information Security Program. This role designs and develops complex IT solutions using a risk-based approach, serving as the primary liaison between enterprise IT architects and systems security engineering teams. The IT Security Architect ensures the effectiveness of IT security controls throughout the system lifecycle and advises stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies, compliance requirements, and security best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and direct IT security architecture documentation ensuring privacy, compliance, and security requirements are met.
Own and manage all security architecture processes and initiatives.
Implement and maintain a strategic and tactical vision for IT system and enterprise architectures.
Assess risks in new architecture designs and track risk throughout system lifecycles.
Review and assess security requirement adherence during system acquisition and integration.
Advise stakeholders on security best practices and conduct risk-based analysis of alternatives.
Collaborate with CISO and CTO to design and integrate information security strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Communicate the value of IT security across all organizational levels.
Apply risk-based methods, standards, and approaches for enterprise IT architecture.
Identify vulnerabilities in security systems and recommend mitigation strategies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, or Business preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
5+ years in Information Security.
7+ years in IT architecture roles with customer service emphasis (Healthcare/Academic industry preferred).
Experience building project teams and driving organizational change.
Experience meeting corporate policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership skills with initiative and drive.
