REQ-39861NewsNation seeks a Senior Producer to join the show team for its flagship daily political program, The Hill. The senior producer is a key member of the show’s leadership team plays a lead role in overseeing planning and logistics. We’re looking for someone very knowledgeable about Washington politics, as well as state and local politics, and is mindful of how the intersection of politics and policy impacts voters across America. The position is based either at the network’s New York or Washington offices.Duties & Responsibilities:Assists anchor and executive producer in setting show's editorial directionHelps build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programmingCoordinates the team: segment producers, associate producers, editors and other staffCoordinates futures calendarAssists with identifying prospective guests and newsmakers for booking producersCopy edits scripts and contentServes as a senior leader in the control roomHelps implement training and best practices for teamProvides ongoing mentoring and support to staffManage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teamsPerforms special projects and other duties as assignedRequirements & Skills:Experience producing for a national news program or producing newscasts in a top 10 marketExperience covering politics and governmentStrong news judgementQuick decision maker and creative thinkerEffective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levelsCollaborative team player who advocates for their show but find ways to elevate network reportingBachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyProficiency with ENPSFlexibility to work different shiftsSalary Range: (per experience): $115,000 – $135,000Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions,Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
