About the Role The Sales Support Specialist position is responsible for promoting sales growth by supporting our customers, business partners and sales team. Direct responsibility for customer support and increasing sales revenues and margins. The ultimate goal of this role is to develop a relationship with the customer so that United Utility Supply becomes their exclusive resource for material and problem resolution.
What you’ll be doing:
Accurately enters orders, answers and asks questions to fully meet customer’s needs.
Collaborates with outside sales force to best serve customer’s needs.
Answer customer’s questions regarding products and their function, including alternatives products, backorder times, quotations, delivery through to order closure and potential return.
Work in partnership with manufacturers to coordinate order shipment, pricing, returns and resolve customer problems and issues.
Work with suppliers’ representatives to comprehend pricing, lead-time return authorizations, and product training to better service cooperative customer’s needs and build strong partnerships.
Create and maintain organized client records and notes for cross use within the department including summaries of pending orders and issues.
Performs other duties as assignment by management.

Advanced education preferred
2 years inside/outside sales required
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral); including ability to handle/resolve customer complaints or adversarial situations with strong attention to detail.
Innovative and Proactive approach to sales
May need to drive to location on behalf of company, will need a valid driver’s license, travel occasional (5%)
May need to work additional hours as necessary (such as weather emergencies)
Knowledge of Microsoft office suites and ability to use internet-based business-related computer programs
