Your Day at Lowe’s
Sales Specialists are very active: moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and engaging customers. You will spend most of your time communicating with customers, discussing project needs, answering questions, and closing sales. You may work in any of the following departments based on hiring needs: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively seek out customers, understand their needs, and communicate Lowe’s product advantages.
Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors, providing estimates, scheduling installers, processing orders, and ensuring project completion.
In the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
Monitor inventory levels and work with vendors and other stores to secure merchandise.
Perform price reviews and maintain pricing documentation.
Support checkout functions and departmental requests for assistance.
Train associates through on-the-job training and coaching.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
1 year of customer-facing sales experience, or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (or equivalent external experience if education requirement is not met).
1 year of sales or customer-service experience in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
Can lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with reasonable accommodation.
Obtain any required sales-related licensure or registration if required by law.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of experience completing customer sales orders.
Experience promoting product-related services and plans such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
Experience designing customized products using CAD or similar tools.
Professional certification related to the department.
Bi‑lingual skills (preferred).
Travel Requirements
Travel is not required, but occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be necessary.
Working Conditions
Work may involve indoor and outdoor environments, variable weather conditions, and exposure to noise. Associates must follow lifting guidelines and use powered equipment with proper training.
