Purchasing Agent

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent/Buyer to join our team. This role is responsible for managing procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies for the company. Key Responsibilities: • Handle purchase order requests and ensure accuracy in quantity and pricing. • Source and evaluate quotes, update pricing, and maintain vendor relationships. • Utilize Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems and Great Plains software for maintaining, purchasing and reporting. • Collaborate with internal teams to meet material requirements and deadlines. • Split responsibilities for MRO (non-inventory items such as office and maintenance supplies). • Maintain professional communication via email and phone in a fast-paced environment. Requirements: • High school diploma required, no college degree necessary. • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience. • Proficiency in Excel and Word; familiarity with Great Plains software preferred. • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure. • Excellent email and phone etiquette.
