Start Date: 2/2/2026

End Date: 10/30/2026

Work Location: Onsite

Role Overview

This role provides full-time leave coverage for a women's golf product line, with additional support for tennis apparel. We are seeking a seasoned Technical Designer / Pattern Engineer with deep expertise in apparel pattern creation, fit, and garment construction—particularly for women's athletic wear.

This position focuses on the technical execution of garments, translating a designer's sketch into precise patterns, measurements, and technical documentation used for production. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in building patterns from scratch, adjusting existing patterns, and assessing fit throughout development.

Important: This is a highly technical apparel construction role. It is not a graphic design, color design, product marketing, or creative design position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and develop technical garment patterns based on designer sketches and concepts
  • Build patterns from scratch and adjust existing patterns for women's athletic apparel
  • Assess garment fit and functionality; make pattern corrections as needed
  • Produce detailed technical drawings, measurements, and construction documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design and development partners
  • Participate in fit sessions and provide clear, actionable feedback
  • Potentially work in athlete-facing environments and represent the brand professionally
  • Maintain accurate records of pattern changes and revisions using digital tools

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Designer or Pattern Engineer
  • 5+ years of hands-on pattern making and pattern adjustments for women's apparel
  • 5+ years of experience in athletic or performance wear
  • Strong knowledge of knit garment construction (wovens a plus)
  • Proven ability to translate creative sketches into technical patterns and specs
  • Strong understanding of fit, sizing, and functional apparel requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance wear, outerwear, dresses, or skirts
  • Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems (e.g., PCX or web-based tools) for documentation and change tracking
  • Experience working in fast-paced product development environments

Portfolio Requirement

A portfolio is required and should demonstrate:

  • Pattern design expertise and technical knowledge
  • Examples of complex pattern work
  • Clear evidence of garment construction and fit problem-solving

Additional Clarification

This role is closely aligned with the technical side of apparel creation—similar to a master seamstress or technical pattern specialist. You will design and document the patterns that manufacturers use to physically construct garments, ensuring proper fit, performance, and consistency in production.
