Architectural Designer Join us at Elmington, a Nashville-based architectural practice delivering comprehensive residential and commercial services with a partnership‑driven approach. Elmington specializes in affordable and multifamily housing, having completed 35 projects nationwide.
Overview In this role, you’ll help shape the firm’s design standards, workflows, and culture while working directly with decision‑makers on active, real‑world projects. Responsibilities Assist in the creation of conceptual site plans and density studies, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
Support design development through conceptual and schematic architectural plans, renderings, and presentations.
Prepare comprehensive architectural construction documents, schedules, and details using Revit.
Coordinate architectural Revit models with consultants and disciplines to ensure complete and accurate 3D models and 2D drawing deliverables.
Participate in construction administration, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.

Specific Education and Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
3‑5 years of professional experience in multifamily residential, student housing, hospitality, commercial or related market sectors.
Architectural registration is not required; progress toward licensure is preferred.
Experience working through all design phases, with knowledge of materials and detailing associated with Type I, Type III and Type V multifamily and mixed‑use construction.
Minimum Qualifications Experience with garden‑style or mid‑rise multi‑family projects.
In‑depth knowledge of commercial real‑estate design principles, industry standards, building codes, and zoning regulations.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Procore.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accountability.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively alongside developers, builders, designers, and marketing teams.
Strong understanding of brand‑driven design and the ability to creatively translate brand guidelines into residential spaces.
