Our client is a pet-loving brand passionate about creating amazing in-store experiences and innovative merchandising that delights customers is hiring a Space Management Planner to join their team!
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and manage planograms using automated space management software (e.g., Blue Yonder Space Planning).
- Analyze category needs, historical sales data, and trends to create or adjust planograms and fixture allocations.
- Allocate fixture space based on sales, inventory turn, sales potential, and customer experience.
- Ensure data integrity of all planograms and assignments; inventory allocation is based on accurate planogram assignment.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards for both inline and promotional displays.
- Accurately quantify fixtures and signage for rollouts, ensuring correct vendor numbers for ordering.
- Validate computer models through physical test sets, prioritizing operations time, cost, and simplicity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new merchandise presentations, including product, fixture, and signage coordination, labor allocation, and rollout documentation.
- Provide labor estimates for merchandising projects and coordinate scheduling on the store master calendar.
- Work with Store Design teams to ensure planograms and displays are correctly placed on floorplans.
- Create, publish, and release monthly promotional planners for secondary locations and display of promotional, seasonal, and impulse merchandise.
- Collaborate on the design, testing, and implementation of new displays and prototype layouts.
- Assist with strategic and tactical merchandising decisions and project management.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based (computer work), with approximately 20% local travel to validate product placement.
- Occasional air travel may be required to train field personnel for special projects or rollouts.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of merchandising principles and retail operations.
- Product knowledge, inventory management, interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills.
- Minimum 1 year experience using Blue Yonder Space Planning or other space management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Adobe Photoshop preferred but not required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, exercise patience and diplomacy, and solve problems creatively.
- Visual merchandising experience (in-store or corporate) and planogram creation experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing preferred.
