Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Senior Analyst

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is one of the television industry's leading content providers, producing, distributing, and carrying programming worldwide in every genre and for every platform. The FP&A team sits at the nexus of financial and commercial information for SPT. The FP&A team builds financial forecasts, maintains TV Ultimates for all of SPT's domestic productions, and supports Business Affairs and senior management in deal negotiations and business analysis. In pursuit of these goals, the FP&A team liaises with other finance groups within the organization, such as Production Accounting, Distribution, Audit, Accounting, Technical Accounting, Billings, Corporate Reporting, Residuals & Participations, as well non-finance groups like the Creative, Production, and Business Affairs teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Director FP&A Finance
  • Responsible for the financial planning process of TV Series Ultimates, P&L, & Cash for various titles. This includes mid-range plan, quarterly forecast, and budget processes
  • Support Senior Management Finance, Business Affairs, & Creative teams with financial scenario modeling for deal negotiations & other commercial decision making
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional teams within Finance/Accounting, Operations, & Creative to consistently develop & implement processes to improve efficiency & leverage/improve existing technology to continually drive value for SPT
  • Build and maintain series Ultimates for purposes of financial reporting, and planning in accordance with IFRS & maintain appropriate controls within the planning and ultimate process as required by Sarbanes Oxley
  • Prepare financial presentations for operations & finance management

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree with finance/accounting/analytical focus required
  • Self-motivated with intellectually curious mindset required
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and levels
  • 3+ years Entertainment industry finance/accounting or public accounting experience required
  • Hands on experience with ultimate accounting in accordance with IFRS or ASC 926 preferred
  • Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills required
  • Strong data analytics experience & capability to adapt to and use new technology required
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • SAP/BPC knowledge preferred

The anticipated base salary for this position is $79,200-$99,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
