Role Purpose

As an innovative and strategic design leader, you possess extensive experience in the discovery, development, and delivery of both online and offline brand experiences. You excel in navigating complex internal and external challenges and can effectively collaborate within a global enterprise. Your role requires you to define and lead pioneering design and brand initiatives, with a strong focus on innovation and experiential design, that surpass business objectives across 2D and 3D packaging, digital platforms, retail environments, and e-commerce, setting new industry benchmarks for pet nutrition brands. Responsibilities

Design & Experience Leadership: Lead the Hill’s design team in delivering excellence in strategic brand-design experiences, focusing on packaging design systems, execution, and sustained activation for Global and Divisional brands. Strategic Innovation & Future Vision: Drive the entire design process from blue-sky innovation to delivery, ensuring that high-level disruptive creative concepts are successfully translated into final, market-ready assets and scalable future platforms, while actively scouting and integrating emerging design trends and technologies to fuel brand growth. End-to-End Execution: Ensure that high-level creative concepts are successfully translated into final, market-ready assets, covering the full design lifecycle from concepting to production and delivery. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Design Thinking: Partner closely with the Hill’s global brand marketing team to align design strategy with overall brand guidelines while adapting to local market needs, championing Design Thinking methodologies to solve complex business challenges. Team Development & Creative Culture: Mentor and grow the design team through hiring, training, and performance management, fostering a culture of fearless experimentation, rapid prototyping, and continuous design evolution. Agency Partnership & Design Excellence: Drive design excellence standards with internal and external agency partners, spanning packaging, brand experience, and activation, challenging partners to co-create groundbreaking brand expressions and user-centric solutions. Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Design or a related creative field. Experience: 15+ years of professional design experience, primarily within the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) sector on Global brands, with a demonstrable portfolio showcasing design-led innovation and measurable business impact. Technical Expertise & System Thinking: Proven "hands-on" packaging design skills with a deep understanding of great brand design systems, including brand equity, architecture, visual assets, and governance, with experience in implementing next-generation design tools and sustainable/smart packaging solutions. Process Mastery & Agile Delivery: Demonstrated ability to manage the full design lifecycle, moving seamlessly from initial innovation, rapid prototyping, and concepting to final production and delivery, leveraging Agile design principles. Omni-Channel Fluency & Digital Disruption: Strong experience in Omni-channel environments, including a solid background in digital design, with proven expertise in designing for emerging platforms (e.g., AR/VR, personalized digital experiences). Preferred Qualifications

Strategic Influence & Vision Casting: Proven ability to articulate and champion a design perspective that strategically influences business decisions, acting as a key voice for innovation at the executive level. Business Acumen & Entrepreneurial Mindset: Strong understanding of business drivers and the ability to navigate a complex, political matrix organization with conflicting agendas, demonstrating an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and capitalizing on new design opportunities. Communication & Inspiration: Excellent storytelling and influence skills to build consensus across the enterprise, capable of inspiring non-design stakeholders with a clear vision for the future of the brand experience. Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $175,000.00 - $195,000.00 USD Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles. Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws.
