A rapidly growing company is seeking a strategic yet tactical financial leader to drive key financial and budgetary processes, particularly focusing on their upcoming budget for 2026, and assist in setting up organizational financial systems as they transition into a new growth phase. This role will be crucial in navigating complex financial landscapes, advising on strategic decision-making, and optimizing financial operations in the context of their innovative AI-driven solutions. Responsibilities
Embed within the business to participate in leadership team meetings. Provide tactical and strategic financial guidance for the 2026 budget planning. Prepare financial reports and documents for initial board meetings. Advise and collaborate on strategic financial projects, including:
Pricing strategies Gross margin target setting Technical cost and expense management related to AI product components (e.g., inference fees, cloud costs).
Manage and oversee the relationship with outsourced accounting firms handling month-end close, AR, and AP. Be accessible as a responsive financial partner, integrating deeply with the team, offering continuous support beyond set project deliverables. Qualifications
Proven experience as a finance leader in a startup, with a preference for those who have managed financial operations from Seed to Series A/B rounds. Demonstrated experience in engaging with early-stage investors and board management. Proficiency in Excel and a hands-on approach to budget building. Ideal candidates would have experience in AI or healthcare sectors, focusing on technical cost management and AI-related pricing. Preferably located in or willing to travel to New York City. Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and integrate effectively into an evolving business structure.
