Position Summary
Under the direction of the Associate AD for External Affairs, the Director of Ticket Sales and Service will provide leadership and strategic direction for the ticket sales and service unit within Athletics. This position will be responsible for developing and executing results‑driven sales strategies to drive revenue, providing elite customer service for season ticket members and guests and managing ticket operations in collaboration with Portland State University Box Office leadership for all ticketed sports.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, marketing, sport management, finance, accounting, or other related field.
One to two years of experience in ticket sales and operations within a sports environment.
Experience utilizing ticketing software and database programs such as Ticketmaster, University Tickets, Paciolian or another related program.
Proven experience developing sales strategies to drive season ticket, group and single game sales increasing revenue.
The ability to manage several tasks or projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
A track record in building quality relationships and provided elite customer service.
Experience managing and leading a sales team.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, marketing, sports management, finance, accounting or other related field.
Experience working in a NCAA Division 1 athletic ticket office or professional sports organization.
Evidence of strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey thoughts, ideas and plans to PSU Coaches, Administrators and other staff members.
Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.
Function and communicate effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
Seek opportunities to gain experience working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings with a willingness to change for continual improvement.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be between $49,140 to $52,332 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
