Stanbridge University is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer‑service-driven individual with experience in events and administrative support for the position of Media & Events Assistant for Student Orientations. This role is ideal for a motivated self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys helping others succeed.
In this role, you will lead the coordination and hosting of New Student Orientations, support incoming students during their early days at the university, and provide administrative and logistical support for Media & Communications events.
Essential Functions
Schedule and coordinate all New Student Orientations; communicate orientation schedules with incoming students, faculty, and staff
Host and facilitate hybrid orientation sessions via Zoom and in person across the Irvine, Riverside, Alhambra, and San Diego campuses
Coordinate on‑campus orientation days, including campus tours, catered lunches, classroom sessions, and related logistics
Provide administrative support for orientations, including managing communications and maintaining accurate student records
Travel between all four Southern California campuses as needed to support orientation and event activities
Provide administrative and logistical support for Media & Communications meetings and events, both on‑campus and off‑campus
Assist with basic event logistics, including pick‑up and delivery of orders, gifts, and marketing or event materials
Support media‑related tasks for other departments and instructors as needed
Maintain availability for occasional evening, weekend, and overtime hours based on event and operational needs
Qualifications
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Outstanding customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills
Confident, professional public speaking and group facilitation abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Proficiency with Zoom, including scheduling meetings, screen sharing, breakout rooms, and recording sessions
Ability to operate large vehicles such as sprinter vans or U‑Haul vehicles, as well as other company vehicles, for event‑related needs
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
$21-$23/hour. Compensation is dependent on education and experience
Conditions of Employment

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be physically present in the office (unless otherwise noted)
Employment verification will be conducted to validate work experience per accreditation standards
Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
Official transcripts are required prior to hire. Degrees earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service to determine U.S. degree equivalency and applicable subject‑area coursework
