Company Overview The client is a local manufacturer and an engineered products company. They’re a leader in the bellows and light‑box industries, respectively. We depend on excellent sales engineering and customer service capabilities as a competitive advantage in our markets, rapidly engineering and manufacturing a variety of niche products. The selected candidate will train and work directly with the current Sales Engineer (CNC Manufacturing).

Duties & Responsibilities

Learn various product lines (bellows, light boxes, LED applications, plastic displays, plastic fabrication, custom mechanical assemblies, etc.) with a focus on the industrial bellows business.

Learn the bellows design process and design/quote bellows and related products, heavily focusing on design, quotation, follow‑up, and order‑process management.

Use phone and email for communications. Business development requires relationships, strong customer service, and follow‑up; training will support this.

Generate leads through creative means, produce activity, RFQs, and drawings for quoting. Management, sales, and engineering support design, pricing, but new leads are critical for expansion.

Attend tradeshows and visit customer sites; travel may be required.

Develop, own, manage, and continually expand a new book of business.

Create a list of target accounts of ‘known users’ for various product lines.

Manage the ‘Black Book’ of customers opened through sales efforts; if passed on to another engineer or customer service, appropriate hand‑off will occur.

Target, market, and open new accounts through networking, relationship building, and new product development into existing and new channels.

Pursue and persistently follow up on leads from management or other sales personnel.

When necessary, meet directly or arrange meetings for executive management to discuss business relationships.

Receive training on business, sales process, product lines, and customer base.

Follow the sales plan and process.

Work hand‑in‑hand with management.

Education & Qualifications

Junior or experienced engineer, experienced product designer, or strong technical background (engineering/mechanical).

Engineering degree or technical school preferred; hands‑on capability matters most. Non‑degreed candidates must have sales engineering or technical sales experience.

Basic CAD knowledge required.

Manufacturing/machining experience highly preferred (lathes, mills, CNC, laser, tooling); classroom exposure acceptable.

Comfortable on the phone with a professional, personable customer‑facing approach.

Strong interest in customer engagement and technical sales.

Prior technical or manufacturing sales experience is a plus.

Self‑motivated with a proven track record in industrial, manufacturing, or technical roles.

Strong presentation, written communication, and organizational skills.

Analytical, adaptable, and capable of overcoming sales challenges creatively.
