Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Alumni Engagement Coordinator works with the Alumni Relations and Susquehanna University Annual Fund team to engage alumni and keep them connected to the university. The Alumni Engagement Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing the front-line communication and customer service, digital engagement and experience for alumni relations and annual fund, including but not limited to, alumni communications, crowdfunding, alumni digital solicitations, and all event communications. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
Specific Responsibilities
Create and manage digital communications such as alumni invitations, solicitations and other digital content using sophisticated email marketing tools. Coordinate master alumni communications and solicitations calendars and track responses, revenue by event or solicitation, and provide reporting to team.
Create and manage event registration pages using online event management tool including event registrations and fee transactions.
Provide support for Homecoming; arrange reunion ambassador meetings, mailings, assemble ticket and registration material, track responses and event revenue, handle overall weekend coordination.
Create and manage crowdfunding campaigns using online giving application including setting up campaign and sub-campaign pages, tracking revenue, creating personalized giving URLs and reporting results.
Manage defined segments of annual fund donors. Cultivate relationships with these donors via email, phone, social, video conferencing, texting, and other advancement platforms.
Collaborate effectively with other members of the Annual Fund, Advancement Communications, Alumni Relations, Athletic, and other departments as part of a comprehensive multi-channel marketing program, including direct mail, email, social media and phone channels.
Build up social media presence while identifying and engaging with alumni influencers in the digital and social media realms.
Manage other engagement duties including collect, compile and input information for alumni engagement including class notes and milestone events (marriages, births, advanced degrees, promotions) from alumni for Susquehanna Currents and coordinate with Marketing and acknowledge through outreach or written correspondence.
Manage the alumni online community including alumni updates, mass emails and eNewsletters, inquiries, data reports, and event registration.
Manage front line customer service and administrative tasks: Coordinate, track, and attend volunteer meetings as needed. Track and coordinate budget and process invoices, and order supplies.
Train and supervise student workers as needed.
Contribute to the overall success of the Advancement team and the University by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education
High school graduate or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
2-4 years of administrative experience required with preference for prior work in alumni relations, annual giving, customer service, marketing, or administration.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability and willingness to interact and work with a range of constituents, colleagues, and personalities.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks are also preferred.
