The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law‑abiding citizens. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Repairer 2 to perform a variety of semi‑skilled maintenance and repair tasks at one of its secure care facilities or administrative offices. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and well‑kept environments for youth and staff. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in general maintenance and a commitment to public service.
Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR Completion of a two‑year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems
Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks as needed
Conduct inspections and identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
Operate hand and power tools, machinery, and vehicles as required
Maintain grounds, including mowing, landscaping, and basic exterior upkeep
Respond to work orders and emergency repair requests in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials used, and time spent
Follow safety protocols and agency procedures at all times
