Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional in managing and delivering the golf experience for members and guests. This includes
daily golf operations, customer service, instruction, tournament coordination, and pro shop responsibilities.
Experience Required
1-3 years of experience
working in a golf operations environment at a private club, resort, or daily‑fee facility
Hands‑on experience assisting with
daily golf operations , including tee sheet management, starting, pace of play monitoring, and outside services coordination
Proven experience providing
high‑level member and guest service
in a fast‑paced golf setting
Experience working in a
golf shop/pro shop , including POS systems, merchandising, inventory control, and retail sales
Background assisting with or managing
golf tournaments, leagues, and events , including scoring, pairings, and on‑course logistics
Experience supervising or supporting
outside services staff
(starters, marshals, cart attendants)
Working knowledge of the
Rules of Golf , golf etiquette, and club policies
Experience providing
golf instruction
(private lessons, clinics, junior programs) preferred
Familiarity with golf management software (tee sheet, POS, handicap systems)
PGA Member or
actively enrolled in the PGA of America Professional Golf Management Program
preferred
Essential Responsibilities
Assist in
managing daily operations
of the golf facility, including coordinating tee times, starters, marshals, and golf car staging.
Ensure smooth flow of play and maintain pace standards.
Represent the club professionally with members, guests, and visitors.
