Principal Associate, B2C Product Marketing - Brand Capital One is leading the industry in providing innovative digital tools and payment solutions for its consumers that enable them to focus on what matters most—living their lives. Capital One’s Brand Digital Strategy team is seeking an experienced B2C Product Marketing Strategist to develop and execute best‑in‑class marketing campaigns that build awareness, consideration and usage of our digital payments tools with our existing customers. You’ll partner closely with the Emerging Payments product teams to develop product positioning and messaging strategy, and you’ll partner with business analysts, creative partners, and channel execution teams to launch multi‑channel campaigns to distribute those messages and content to our consumer card customers.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced marketer with a proven track record developing product marketing strategy and launching integrated B2C marketing campaigns.

What you’ll do

Become a subject matter expert on Capital One’s suite of digital payment solutions, including virtual card numbers, Google Chrome autofill, digital wallets, and more.

Establish a detailed understanding of our target audience, user journeys, use cases, and marketing channels to inform marketing strategy and asset development.

Develop product positioning, value propositions, and messaging frameworks related to our digital payment solutions and tailored to specific audiences.

Create go‑to‑market strategies for building awareness, consideration and usage of our digital payments and spend management tools.

Identify opportunities to create breakthrough marketing assets and content, managing the entire process from ideation to creative briefing and production with internal and external creative partners.

Partner with our channel marketing teams to execute campaigns across email, in‑product, site, SEO, social, etc.

Build robust learning agendas and test plans to continually optimize campaigns and creative assets.

Synthesize performance data, research insights, marketing trends, competitive landscape, and macro external factors to identify campaign growth opportunities and optimizations.

Showcase learnings and successes through well‑refined communication and presentation skills.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or military experience

At least 3 years of experience in a product marketing role

At least 3 years of experience in planning, executing, analyzing, and optimizing multi‑channel marketing programs

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience working in B2C tech or FinTech

At least 2 years of experience in Brand strategy

At least 3 years of experience managing creative processes and working with creative teams

Experience launching new products and corresponding systems and processes

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience socializing marketing strategy to both creative and technical leaders

Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, with experience owning and communicating marketing campaign outcomes

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900; New York, NY: $131,800 - $150,500; Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400.

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
